On Saturday I did something that I have never done before - Jumping off a cliff into the water. We were at
the Concord waterfalls.
There are two different waterfalls at Concord. One is at the parking lot but you have to hike up the mountain to the other falls.
First, we met up with a group of friends to drive to the falls. One of the friends was a girl my age named Hershel. Altogether we had a group of 14 people. When we got to the parking lot, first we hiked up to the upper waterfall. On the hike we had to cross the stream 3 or 4 times. I wore water shoes so I could walk through the water.
When we got to the waterfall it was beautiful, but was cold to swim in it.
After we had a little swim, we hiked back down to the lower waterfall where I jumped off the cliff into the water 2 times. It was scary, but fun!
From our campsite, we can see several small islands that are very close. Some of the islands are for sale - I would like to buy one. :)
To make a fire, we had to cut firewood with a Cutlass. That is the kind of knife they use in Grenada for everything. They don't have an axe like we have at home. My brothers had a hard time chopping wood with the cutlass.
Sleeping in a tent was hard because the ocean waves were loud and kept me awake. And there were lots of frogs and bugs that made noise,
Brad and Karen also helped us make giant bubbles - they were huge.
FINALLY - I have been waiting so long to go back to Grenada. I was here two years ago and loved it, and I am finally back, and loving it even more.
Our house this time is very close to the house we had last time - it is on Grand Anse Beach. Here is a picture of our house.
I like living so close to the beach because it is nice to go for a short swim in the ocean each afternoon to cool off. I love the water and the water loves me. With my goggles or snorkel and mask, I see so many things in the water.
