End of 2016

Today is the last day of 2016 but we are staying in Grenada for another 2 weeks.  Time has gone by fast, but I am anxious to get back to my cats.

Speaking of my cats, I have made friends with some cats here.  On Wednesday at the beach, I saw a little grey cat that looks just like my Sid at home.  The little cat was so cute and so friendly. :)

There is also an Orange cat at the house were we live that is so cute and friendly - she even came in and slept in our bed.

So let me tell you about the events this week.
On Monday we went in the ministry.  I have to use an umbrella in the ministry because the sun is so hot.

Then on Monday afternoon, we went on a road trip to the north end of the Island to a place called Petite Anse.  I love to swim in the pool there that overlooks the ocean.  We also had supper there.

On Tuesday, I had to do school work, but we went out for pizza with a bunch of friends we met at Shane's wedding.  Some were going back to Guyana so it was nice to see them again before they left.

On Wednesday we went to the beach at the Rex.

This video shows the little snails I saw.

We also watched the sunset.

Thursday was school work day again.  On Friday we had our missionary friends, Robert and Ruby over for the evening and I showed them my card tricks. ;)

Today we went in the ministry again this morning.  It was a hot morning and we climbed some very steep hills.  We needed a rest after that.

We are going to the meeting at Robert and Ruby's congregation this evening.  Their meeting is at 5PM on Saturday.  That is a weird time to me, but I guess that's what works best for them.
I guess this is my last post this year. But we will still be in Grenada next year (ie. tomorrow)

The Wedding

This week we went to a Wedding in Grenada for Shane and Alyssa.  Shane is a friend we met when we first came to Grenada 4 years ago.  He is really tall and he knows sign language.

He got married on Saturday to a nice girl from Guyana named Alyssa.
Two years ago when my oldest brother Lucas got married, Shane was the best man.  So my brother was the best man for Shane's wedding.
My whole family helped with the wedding.  Mom and I helped with decorating and helped to clean the reception hall.  My other brothers, Tyler and Jamin,  and Tyler's fiancĂ© Jayden, worked together to do the photography for the wedding.

And my dad gave the wedding talk.

I also had a lot of fun at the reception after the wedding.  Here is a picture of me, mom, and Brittany at the reception.

My dad put together a video of the wedding:

Back in Grenada for 4th time.

We are back in Grenada again, for another month.  This year we went earlier in the Winter (December) because a friend of our was getting married.  But it was nice to get away from the cold.  It was already -25 Degrees when we left Edmonton.

After working so hard building our new house back in Spruce Grove, I needed a break.  Wow, it is so nice to be back in the warm ocean.

Grenada 2016

I would like to tell you about my trip to Grenada earlier this year.  It was a lot of fun.  We went for a month in February, 2016.  We couldn't wait to get in the water.

I have lots of friends in Grenada.  Here is a picture of me meeting up with a couple of friends I met the first time we were there.

This was the third time we went to Grenada.  I found a star fish each time we were there.  I wonder if it was the same one??

We would go to the beach almost every day.  I love swimming and I love the ocean.  Some days the water was so clear you could see everything on the bottom without goggles.

One day when we were touring, we found some old planes that had been shot down many years ago.  They looked cool.

You might think that when you are on an island, you would only want to swim in the ocean. But sometimes it is nice to swim in a pool too.  One of my favorite pools is at a restaurant called Petite Anns.  I could swim while they were making my supper!

Another beautiful thing is the sunset over the ocean.  When it hit the horizon, it would disappear in only a minute or two.  It was so beautiful.  We would try to watch it everyday.

There is also an old fort in Grenada called Fort George.  It is on a high cliff overlooking the ocean.

Also from the top of Fort George, there is a very good view of the city of St. George and where the cruise ships dock.

When we go to Grenada, we also take time each week to teach people about the bible.  Here is Anisha, a girl that I was teaching, along with her cousin.  I started teaching her last  year and then continued when we were there this year.

There are also beautiful waterfalls in Grenada.  And the water is warm and clean, so it is fun to swim below the waterfall.  I also like to jump off the cliff, but this year I was sick on the day we went to the waterfall.  Last year I did the jump.

Thanks for watching my experience in Grenada.
